This is a private reference site, not a Louisa County or government office. We cannot confirm custody, release a person, post bond, or retrieve an official booking record. Contact the office that controls the record or custody event.

Choose the Correct Records Office

A Louisa arrest record and a CVRJ release record come from different custodians. Central Virginia Regional Jail handles its adult booking, physical release, transfer, and booking-photo records. The Louisa County Sheriff’s Records Department holds Sheriff-created arrest reports, warrants, and court or citizen papers. VADOC controls state custody, sentence, discharge, and community-supervision records.

Use the route that matches the question:

  • For a named adult release or release record, follow the full process on the Louisa County released-inmate search and request the CVRJ entry when formal proof is needed.
  • For state probation or parole, use Post-Release Supervision and contact Charlottesville District 9 at 750 Harris Street, Suite 202, Charlottesville, VA 22903, (434) 295-7194.
  • For a same-day custody change, use 24-Hour Releases; CVRJ does not publish a countywide recent-release feed.
  • For a state sentence date or an alert, use Release Date Lookup and VINE Inmate Check.
  • For facility-specific rules, use the Central Virginia Regional Jail or Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Center page listed below.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the official VADOC inmate and supervisee locator or VADOC records office.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use the official Federal Bureau of Prisons or ICE locator; those systems are separate from CVRJ and VADOC.
