Privacy Notice

This notice describes what Louisa County Released Inmates receives when someone browses, searches, or sends a message, why that information may be used, and which service providers may receive it. It also explains cookies, security limits, choices, and policy updates. By using the site, you accept the practices described here.

Information You Submit

Terms Entered in Search

A name, place, or other term entered in a search box is sent to the third-party provider that operates the search service. We do not store or log those search terms on our own systems. The provider’s privacy terms govern its receipt and handling of the query.

Messages Sent to Us

If you email us or use an available contact form, we retain the message and contact details as needed to read and answer it. We do not share a message outside our organization unless the sender asks us to do so or disclosure is required by law.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most web services, site infrastructure can create technical logs when a page loads. Those records help deliver pages, measure use, spot faults, and protect the service. Logged details may include:

  • The internet protocol address used for the request
  • Browser name and version
  • Device category and operating system
  • Pages viewed and time spent on them
  • The referring website, when supplied
  • Date and time stamps for requests

Cookie Controls

Cookies and similar technologies may help measure how visitors move through the site and support advertising or service functions. Browser settings can block or remove cookies. Some features may work differently when cookies are disabled.

How Information Is Used

  • Operate the site and improve page speed or reliability
  • Send a search request to the selected partner service
  • Understand which Louisa County resource pages are useful
  • Detect, diagnose, and repair technical problems
  • Display advertising that may reflect visitor interests

Links and Outside Services

Pages may link to CVRJ, Louisa County offices, Virginia FOIA resources under Title 2.2 Chapter 37, VADOC, courts, federal locators, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows an outside link, that destination’s privacy notice and data practices apply. We do not control those practices.

Advertising partners may use their own technology to measure activity across websites or tailor ads. That tracking occurs through their systems and is governed by their policies, not by this notice alone.

Who May Receive Information

We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be available to providers that perform a specific function or to an authority with a valid legal demand:

  • Search partners that process terms entered into their tools
  • Analytics providers that measure site traffic and use
  • Advertising networks that deliver or assess ads
  • Law-enforcement agencies or other government bodies acting under a valid court order or legal process

Security Has Practical Limits

We use standard administrative and technical safeguards suited to the site and the information handled. No internet connection, storage system, or transmission method is fully secure. We cannot promise that a breach, loss, misuse, or unauthorized access will never occur.

Visitors Under Eighteen

The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contacts page to request review and deletion.

Your Privacy Choices

  • Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of information that is inaccurate
  • Ask us to erase information where the law allows
  • Object to or opt out of certain processing where that right applies

Changes to This Notice

We may revise this privacy notice as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when it is posted here with its updated effective date.
